We are excited to announce PCPS has partnered with ESS to manage our substitute program beginning July 1, 2024. The seasoned educational personnel and management firm has more than two decades of experience providing trained and qualified substitute staff to school districts. We're confident that this partnership will benefit our schools, our incredible substitute staff and our community as a whole.
The partnership calls for ESS to recruit, screen, train, hire, place and manage applicants interested in becoming substitutes. Important to this program is the hiring of as many of the current substitutes as possible. ESS has plans to hire additional substitute employees locally as needed to fill classrooms with qualified substitutes who can contribute to enhanced student achievement. The ESS program also includes a local management team, as well as significant commitment to the Powhatan community through various community involvement initiatives.
We cannot thank our dedicated substitutes enough for stepping in at a moment's notice to ensure our students experience continuity in academic and support services. All current substitutes will be contacted soon by ESS to start the transition process.
