Struggling to find childcare for your child under age 5?
Build relationships, gain resources, share ideas, and learn more about early childhood care for your children at a Family Café – and grab a $50 gift card.
Family Cafés are gatherings, hosted by Thrive Birth to Five, for parents/guardians/caregivers of children ages 0-5, from your region. A Family Café for Powhatan and Goochland families will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 at Pocahontas Elementary School, 4294 Anderson Highway, Powhatan. The event is free. Register by calling Jasmine Granger at 804-409-5632.
During this event, you will build relationships with other parents, learn more about early childhood care for your children, and provide insight on childcare gaps and needs in your community. If you have found it challenging to secure childcare in your community, Family Cafés are an opportunity for YOU to learn and connect! Thrive Birth to Five's mission is to build our region's early childhood system and become a trusted steward of early childhood resources for families, providers, and the ecosystem supporting them. Thrive Birth to Five believes all children in our region should thrive and race, place, and income will no longer determine success in school!
Thrive Birth to Five will be providing $50 per family (limit 2 adults per family) as incentives to help offset barriers, like childcare. You will also leave with childcare slots that may be open, a swag bag of goodies that includes books, bubbles and other local resources that may be helpful for your family.
This is a free event, but please make sure to have your ticket on hand when you arrive.
Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the event starts for registration.
*While Family Café’s are about children, they are not for children.
