The Title I program provides additional support to eligible students in grades K - 5 at Pocahontas Elementary school. Title I services supplement, but do not replace, reading and math instruction that students receive from their classroom teachers. Eligible students work with Title I instructional assistants who collaborate closely with the curriculum specialists, classroom teachers and reading/math coaches.

Eligibility - Students in grades kindergarten through five are eligible for Title I services. Students are considered for the Title I program if their reading and math achievement screenings are below expectations for the grade level.

Families of all students in Title I intervention will be invited to participate in several evening sessions throughout the year. During these sessions, the families will have the opportunity to work with the county reading and math coaches to learn ways to support their students' educational growth at home. We will also use School Messenger to send reminders and online links to the invitations. All students in Title I are encouraged to attend all of the events.
