career and workforce development

Students are encouraged to explore the opportunities available in our career and technical education departments. CWD courses allow students to learn “hands-on” job skills in a variety of career fields. Students who complete a course sequence in high school CWD courses can be prepared for entry-level jobs and/or further training in a related field.

High school courses are offered in agriculture, business and information technology, technology education, family and consumer sciences, trade and industrial education, health and medical sciences, and government and public administration.

Middle School courses are offered in agriculture, digital design, game design, computer technology, coding and family and consumer sciences.

Work-based Learning Opportunities allow students the to earn high school credit for working at an approved job. Students involved may be allowed to leave school early during their junior and senior years. (i.e internships, clinicals, co-ops, apprenticeships, school-based enterprise, service learning and job shadowing)

In addition, many of our CWD programs provide students to have the opportunity to participate in Industry Certification and State Licensure testing.
