During his time at PHS, Dakota took classes in horticulture, agriscience, and animal science also served as the vice president of the Powhatan Senior FFA Chapter and helped with large community events such as Celebration of the Horse.

Dakota graduated from Virginia State in 2021 with a B.S. in Agricultural Education and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Agricultural Education from Virginia Tech

Today, Dakota is working as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Signal Knob Middle School, where he works with youth and helps them to excel in many different classes, competitions, and community service projects. In April 2024, Mr. Stroud was awarded the 2024 Virginia Association of Agricultural Educators (VAAE) “Teachers Turn the Key” scholarship. The Teachers Turn the Key Scholarship Program was created in 2003 by the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) to combat the teacher shortage in agricultural education and to encourage young agricultural teachers to remain in the profession.
